Who We Are
Irwin Fust, CFI (SEL) e-mail: Irwin Fust
Irwin Fust received his pilot’s license in 1967 and his instructor rating in 1970. Irwin taught flying during the 70’s at Hayward Airport in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the Redding Area. In Redding Irwin also enjoyed a career as a radio station manager and on-air personality during the late 70’s and 80’s and later owned and operated a printing company in Redding. He was elected to the Shasta County Board of Supervisor in 1993 and served 12 years in that position.
Irwin returned to serious flying in the late 90’s and reinstated his instructor certificate in 2007. Irwin has a deep interest in primary flight instruction and is particularly interested in introducing future pilots to the new Sport Pilot rating and the new class of Light Sport Aircraft. Irwin can be reached at (530) 351-8203 or at the above e-mail.
Jack Anderson, CFII (SEL) e-mail: Jack Anderson
Jack Anderson has taught several generations within several families here in the Red Bluff area to becoming pilots, and has now added Light Sport Training to his current program options for beginning and current pilots. He is currently working on a ‘glass cockpit transition syllabuses' for current pilots wishing to make the transition to the new and modern equipment which is gaining acceptance within the aircraft community…… “Since the FAA rule making in 2004, establishing the Light Sport category, we have seen an increase of interest from all sectors of the population. New students of all ages who just want to fly for pleasure and enjoyment. The Private Pilot student who considers using the LS program as a stepping stone, or building block, while continuing for their Private Pilot License. Even existing pilots who don’t want the rigors and expense of maintain their medical certificate and just want recreational flying.”
Jack’s way to introduce this new and exciting pilot program to you is by offering a Discovery Flight in a Flight Design CT, glass panel light sport aircraft, for $69.00. “For those desiring to continue their training, I’ll supply a logbook with proper first-flight entry and times that can be used anywhere to apply towards whatever license or certificate you are desiring.”
Tony Miller, Managing Director e-mail: Tony Miller

Tony soloed on his birthday, 1958, thanks to a father that was a pilot and airplane owner. (Got his driver’s license the next day.) He continued his General Aviation flying through college, and then joined the USAF. He left the Air Force in 1990 with many thousands of flight hours and landings. But like many existing ex-pilots, he hadn’t touched an airplane for over ten years. “Then one day I saw this ‘cute little something of an airplane on the ramp’ near the café he had stopped at for coffee. “We went out there and I couldn’t believe what I was looking at, or what the pilot was telling us.” That was it for Tony. To the internet and after days of research the ‘return to flying’ had taken over and a plan was formed. Within sixty days he was a ‘re-certified and current’ pilot, again…. Tony is an advocate of the Light Sport Program for new ‘want-to-be’ pilots for their personal pleasure or pursuits, or as a building-block for Private Pilot and higher or existing pilots that may have reasons to modify their current certificate.
Please contact Tony to discuss the various programs that can be personalized to your requirements.

Nor*Cal LSA Marketing & Administration

Rose is a Prime Example of who the New Pilot is – She is a retired Civil Engineer and grandmother of four. She will tell you “I always had this little voice somewhere that said ‘I’d like to fly’, and guess what?” Currently enrolled in our LSA program, which she intends to use as a building-block for her Private Pilot License. “For about half the price of a private pilot ticket I can be flying as a pilot with one of my grandchildren, or a friend, or fly to some great little eatery I have heard about. Plus, all the instruction hours and experience counts towards my Private Pilot or other ratings.” Rose further decided that “ownership of my own plane and learning to fly it was a very good approach to learning to fly for me.”
Rose brings first hand experiences and knowledge to you about the process, the joys of flying, of being your own pilot, along with the fun and beauty of flying. Feel free to contact her and discuss your questions, possible concerns, or thoughts and let her tell you her views, opinions and experiences…
